Owensville Water System Improvements
In 2001 the Department of Natural Resources conducted a routine inspection of the City of Owensville's water system. They recommended that the City have a sanitary and structural inspection performed on the Second Street storage facilities. These recommendations prompted the city to perform an analysis of the entire system. Archer was called upon to evaluate the existing water distribution system, evaluate the city's existing needs, estimate the future demands of the system and identify the facilities and improvements needed to economically meet these present and future demands.
An Engineering Report was written to review existing water supply facilities within the City limits, project future water supply requirements for domestic consumption and fire fighting, including looping to serve the proposed Wal-Mart site; identification of water supply, storage and distribution faciliti4es necessary to meet existing and future needs; perform an hydraulic analysis, line sizing and looping recommendations to serve proposed developments; estimate the cost of the needed improvements, consider the scheduling, financing and implementation of the needed improvements.
This project has required a very high level of cooperation with the City of Owensville and required good coordination between the Engineer and the City of Owensville Staff
