Owensville Street Rehabilitation
The Owensville street project is a multi-phased rehabilitation project that utilizes approximately $500,000 bi-annually to repair City streets. The project began with a Citywide street condition and traffic use analysis to compile a Street Master Plan. The Master Plan provided a tool from which future project areas could be determined based on highest need. Archer assists the City Board in selecting areas for each phase, and rallying community support and participation. Extremely poor sub-grade conditions in many areas have led to the successful implementation of engineered base stabilization products to manage project costs. Flat topography, clayey soils and the absence of a stormwater collection system create unique challenges in designing improvements.
