Owensville Primary Electrical Distribution System Expansion
At the request of the Public Works Director, representatives from Archer met with City Electrical staff to access options for expanding the City's primary electric system. Extensions considered are to serve the proposed Wal-Mart site and West-Site Industrial Park.
Archer reviewed the existing electrical system plans and historical load flow data (multiple sessions) and inspected the existing Substation and Power Plant Protective Equipment, relaying, fusing, etc., along with review of existing Ameren UE transformer capacity and the existing City power plant capacity. Existing distribution system controls, coordination and relaying was examined to determine individual feeder capacities. Research was done on potential new system loading and redundancy/service requirements for the Wal-Mart facility and new business park area.
Archer developed system expansion alternatives and recommendations with preliminary feeder line routing and cost estimates.
Construction of approximately 7,000 lineal feet of 3-Phase, 4-wire, 5k primary electric feeder and service lateral circuits (rated at 15kV) including substation switchgear improvements, underground 3-phase 5kV shielded cable and appurtenances with the City providing the majority of materials was completed. .
