Hermann Safe Routes to School
CM Archer assisted the City of Hermann and the Hermann School District in securing over $225,000 for the construction of new sidewalks to connect the Middle School and Elementary Schools. Separate grant applications were submitted for funding through MoDOT's Safe Routes to School program and the Transportation Enhancement programs. In addition, the School District has an agreement with a communications company to construct a new fiber optic line, connecting their three facilities. CM Archer is assisting the School District in identifying an appropriate alignment for the fiber as well as obtaining the appropriate easements. Much of the fiber will be constructed in coordination with the sidewalk project. This design work is being performed in conjunction with the sidewalk project at no additional charge to the School District.
The projects are currently in the design phase and are scheduled to be under construction this summer and ready for use for the 2008/2009 school year.
