CM Archer Group assisted the City of Hermann in applying for economic development assistance through the Community Block Grant Program.
Morrison Apparel was created by Joe and Delrose Budnik in 1981. Initially, the company was comprised of three operators, and predominantly produced small quantity orders for large uniform companies. Through steady growth and the establishment of a positive reputation in the industry, Morrison expanded its business by opening a larger factory at its current location in Chamois, Missouri.
In July, Morrison Apparel leased a location in Hermann, to help satisfy increasing customer demand. Morrison Apparel's largest product lines are USPS pants, shorts and shirts. Morrison also manufactures fluid resistant lab coats. Morrison's largest customers are Cintas, Brookfield Uniforms, United States Uniforms, Elbeco and DenLine Uniforms. The products to be made at the Hermann facility will include three styles of USPS shirts, one style of maternity shirt and four styles of lab coats.
Currently, Morrison Apparel is realizing an increased demand for its current product line. Furthermore, they are looking to provide additional uniform styles for its largest clients. An expansion of the production facilities is required to meet the growing demand and provide for future growth of the company. It is estimated that sales to current clients.
The location of new production facilities within the Hermann Industrial Park will aid Morrison Apparel in meeting its increased product demand. Morrison Apparel has worked closely with the Hermann Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA) to develop plans to locate the proposed production facilities within the Hermann Industrial Park. Hermann has dedicated industrial infrastructure that can accommodate a large facility with heavy trucking. Existing infrastructure located within the Industrial Park will need to be extended to the proposed Morrison Apparel site, which is currently an undeveloped lot within the Industrial Park. The infrastructure extension would allow for the construction of the new production facilities and would include electric, gas, storm water and water utilities, as well as an extension of an access road on the existing public right-of-way located to the north of the site.
