Fredericktown Wastewater System Improvements
Archer Engineers was recently retained by the City of Fredericktown to examine and recommend improvements to their wastewater treatment facility to assist in their compliance with new 503 Biosolids regulations and to extend conveyance system services to the Fredericktown business park.
Improvements at the wastewater treatment facility included converting its existing surge basin into a peak flow clarifier, constructing a new aerobic digester and aerated solids storage basin. The collection system in the area of the business park was extended and expanded to handle a 600-gallon per minute peak flow from the park. The improvements also included the rehabilitation of a 1,200-gpm pump station and a new 600-gpm pump station.
The $2.5 million project was financed through the State Revolving Fund Low Interest Loan Program, and was completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
Archer provided comprehensive services on the project including facility planning, SRF assistance, preliminary and final design, construction administration and commissioning.
