Crocker Safe Routes to School/Transportation Enhancement
The sidewalks in the City of Crocker were in disrepair and were hazardous for citizen's use. With a need within the City for safe, accessible pedestrian routes, the City of Crocker hired CM Archer to prepare a master plan for pedestrian traffic which would connect the school on the northern end of town, through the downtown area, and ultimately connecting to existing trails in the City Park in the southern end of town.
The plan has received tremendous community support.
CM Archer assisted the City in securing over $140,000 in grant funding from the Transportation Enhancement and Safe Routes to School programs administered through the Missouri Department of Transportation to construct the first phase of this master plan.
CM Archer is further assisting the City in designing a water line replacement to be coordinated with the construction of the sidewalk project.
The project is currently in the design phase and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2008/2009 school year.
